The design of Viinikkala production plant focuses on functionality, efficiency, and sustainability. The facades of Viinikkala production plant are made up of light transmitting profiled sheeting. Natural light improves work safety and reduces energy consumption. Cost-efficient standard facade materials are used such as galvanised corrugated metal sheeting and plastic-coated metal sheets. The central space of the storage hall was to be kept as free as possible of columns to ease circulation and loading. The plant also includes a civil defence shelter, office spaces, meeting rooms and staff facilities.
