The Pitäjänmäki area is developing with the new urban boulevard on Vihdintie, a tram line, and the existing railway station. The planning principle is to preserve the forested environments and create a continuous and diverse green belt through the area – a green heart. The area is divided into two zones: an orthogonal axial zone in accordance with the existing buildings and a more organic zone next to the Vihdintie urban boulevard.
